Remove balloon Tips

to turn off those useless balloon tips do the following..!!

(1.)Start->Run-> Regedit(enter).

(2.)locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\

(3.)Create a DWORD value of EnableBalloonTips
Give it a value of 0
(4.)uve done now you can close the editor..!!

To Change Drive Letters

(1.)Right Click on My Computer
(2.)Select Manage
(3.)Select Disk Management

Now you ll be able to change drive letters of ineternal drives and external drives too.

(4)For internal drives:

(4a)Select it and Right click on it.
(4b.)Select Change Drive Letter and Path
(4c)Click on the Edit button
(4d)Enter the letter of your choice

(5)For a External Drives:

(5a.)In the lower right hand panel right click on the Disk or CD ROM
(5b)Select Change Drive Letter and Path
(5c)Click on the Edit button
(5d)Enter the letter of your choice
(6.)uve done.

Hiding PC from Network Neighborhood

Hiding in the sense that you can share the files but it wont be displayed in the network neighborhood..

(1.)start->run->net config server /hidden:yes
(2.)uve done.

you gonna disable the Task Manager..??

(3.)Create the Dword value DisableTaskMgr
Give it a value of 0 to enable it
Give it a vaule of 1 to disable it

Hidden Devices..??

hidden devices can be made visible by a simple registry change.

(1.)start->run->regedit(enter).
(2.)Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ ControlSet001 \ Control \ Session Manager \ Environment
(3.)Create a string DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES
Give it a value of 1
(4.)uve done now you can close the editor.

Hiding the Last User Logged On

(1.)Start->run->gpedit.msc(enter).
(2.)Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings->Security Settings->Local Policies ->Security Options
(3.)goto to Interactive logon: Do not display last user name :set it to Enable.

disabling windows security center&automatic update

Sometimes we may note that baloon coming in front of us and saying that “your computer might be at risk”.This is because our automatic updates are turned off.In order to remove this baloon follow the given instructions.
(1.)start->run->msconfig(enter)
(2.)go to services tab of system configuration utility and untick “hide all microsoft services”.
(3.)untick security center&automatic update.
(4.)restart the system uve done.

Device Drivers+troubleshooting

If you are having problems with device driivers one way of curing it will be the use of pgm “verifier”.

(1.)Start -> Run -> Verifier(enter).
(2.)Keeping it in “Create Standard Settings”is better.
(3.)Select the type of drivers with which you need conformation.
(4.)A list of drivers to be verified on the next boot will be shown now restart the system.
(5.)If your computer stops with a blue screen, you should get an error message with the problem driver
(6.)To turn off the Verifier, run verifier->reset.
(7.)uve done now repair device driver.

Boot.ini file+editing

The boot.ini file is a simple text file and its edition goes like this.

(1.)Right click on My Computer
(2.)Select Properties,Click on the Advanced tab
(3.)Under Startup and Recovery, click on the Settings button(startup can be edited)
(4.)Click on the Edit button.
